What do board members do?

There are a variety of responsibilities a board member can take on, but some of the main responsibilities are to attend board meetings, support the organizations mission, help in formulating and editing organization policies, assist with fundraising, providing oversight of the financial health of the Council, and more. It is a critical role in driving the work of the organization and making sure we are successful!

What are we looking for?

We are recruiting for all board positions. However, priority will be given to people with experience in non-profit finance or accounting expertise, legal (contracts, employment, general council), and individuals interested in serving as an officer on our Executive Committee as Treasurer or Secretary.

Who can apply?

We are currently recruiting 3-4 new board members and encourage anyone with interest and commitment to apply, regardless if you have previous board experience or not! We also encourage BIPOC individuals to apply.

How do I apply?

Please fill out the form linked below. Applications are open through April 30th, 2025 and will be reviewed in the order they are received.

If you require a different format for the application, such as a paper copy, please contact maya.hurstmayr@columbiaslough.org to arrange for this.
