CSWC is Recruiting Committee Members!

Are you interested in becoming involved in driving the Watershed Council's work in the community? Anyone with a passion for our mission and who is interested in learning is encouraged to join a committee. You don't need previous experience to become a Committee Member at CSWC. BIPOC individuals are encouraged to apply!

What do you do as a committee member?

Work with other members of your committee to advise CSWC's board on actions to take, and provide more in-depth information to the board on a particular topic. For example, the JEDI committee provides a 20-30 minute training to the entire board during each board meeting, and is also deciding on a book for the entire board to read as a book club on JEDI topics.

How do I find out more about joining?

Contact the committee you are interested in joining (emails listed below). You can then attend a committee meeting to see if it is a good fit for you. Committees typically meet once a month, with some meeting once a quarter.

Committees that are currently recruiting:

Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI)

The Jedi Committee meets every month to discuss how to create an inclusive culture at the Council, inside and out. We focus on what type of discussions and training will occur for the Board, but also bring up concerns in organization policy, and make sure CSWC is a learning space for all. Contact Maya if you are interested in joining!

Development

This group works with the Executive Director to help raise money for the organization through event planning, donor outreach and corporate sponsorship. The committee meets once a month and requires a time commitment of 4-6 hours per month. Contact Heather if you are interested in joining!

Land-Use

This standing advisory committee is open for participation from community members, and focuses on land use issues that effect our watershed's environmental health. This committees primary focus is to re-imagine "stakeholder engagement" and work to bring the communities voice to watershed land-use issues and make engagement easy and accessible for the community. Contact Caitlin if you are interested in joining!
